Questions?

Thank you for your interest in the third annual Camp Hoblitzelle Fine Arts Conservatory happening July 21-31, 2024. Spaces are limited, and we are excited to announce that we've expanded the age range for students, now allowing ages 13-25 to join.  Join us for an unforgettable experience!  The fee is $1,200.00 which includes meals, lodging, and access to all activities.  We can't wait to create lifelong memories with you!

What is CHFA?

CHFA is the first-of-its-kind Fine Arts Camp specifically focusing on Theatre and Filmmaking together. Students have a space where they can focus on the stage or behind the camera.  Teens and young adults will embark on this 10-day intensive to enhance their skills and craft, all for the glory of God!

The Experience

Film & Theatre students will come together to be guided by industry professionals in creating live and filmed performances. The Film Majors will be capturing the performances of the Theatre Majors, including scenes, monologues, and musical numbers. Delegates will take advantage of working with film and theatre experts through masterclasses, workshops, and as instructors. Through this transformational experience, students will train in a positive, professional, and Christ-centered atmosphere.

Filmmaking Major

Students who choose to focus on the filmmaking side will actively participate through hands-on filming. They will work behind the camera, roll sound, and be a part of the shoot crew to create short film sequences. The program is designed to be highly interactive, with participants spending significant time filming and working on various aspects of film production. They will learn the skills of cinematography, sound recording, editing, and art direction.

Theatre Major

Theatre students will focus on live theatrical performances and acting on the screen. They will have the opportunity to work on scenes, monologues, and musical theatre numbers. Upon completing registration, there will be an optional audition for principal roles in the production. Students will spend time with industry professionals through masterclasses, inspirational speeches, and instruction. As a theatre major, you'll have the chance to specialize in areas that interest you, such as auditioning, acting for the camera, choreography, and more!

CHFA FINALE

Filmmakers will capture the performance of theatre majors throughout the week on camera through songs and acts. The Theatre majors will also perform live theatrical numbers from Broadway Songs and scenes. We are truly creating a space for both staged and filmed art! Experience the final products of 200 campers creating art on the stage and behind the camera.  Friends and family are welcome to join us for the Red Carpet Event.
